THE MAKING OF COMBED COTTON

Combed cotton is a qualitative upgrade to regular cotton making the fabric softer, more durable & richer. As the name suggests, the Combed cotton goes through an extra step in its production i.e. combing of the cotton before being spun into a yarn. This high-quality fabric is used popularly to make loungewear because of its smoother & premium feel.

1

Harvesting

Fully grown cotton plants are harvested to extract conventional cotton.

2

CLEANING

Loads of this regular cotton are then cleaned for dust, impurities & seeds.

3

COTTON BALLS TO THREADS

The cleaned cotton is shaped to be in a specific shape and to make slivers.

4

COMBING THE THREADS

The threads are cleaned again using fine brushes to remove about 15% of the impurities of the original cotton.

5

THREADS TO YARN

The thoroughly combed threads are now spun into yarn. They can be used to make a soft, strong, and durable fabric.

Fabric Details

Super Combed Cotton is a remarkably stronger, softer, and longer-lasting fabric compared to conventional cotton, made specially by treating the cotton fibers before they are spun into yarn. The soft-on-skin texture of combed cotton is because it lacks short threads that stick out and prickle as well as the dirt and impurities otherwise present on the thread.

FABRIC BENEFITS

Durable:

The combing process removes the weak and frail fibers making this fabric stronger and long-lasting.

Softness:

The refined quality of the combed cotton fabric makes it supremely soft and gentle-on-the-skin.

Absorbency:

The finished combed cotton is exceptionally absorbent, which imparts odour-free comfort in the garments.
